Mission & Vision
Our Mission:
EVERYDAY PEOPLE BECOMING EVERY DAY FOLLOWERS OF JESUS.
What does that mean? It means that at Mosaic Collective, we believe that following Jesus isn’t about being perfect or having all the answers—it’s about taking one step at a time, every day, to grow closer to Him. Our mission is to help everyday people—just like you—discover how faith can transform their lives in simple, practical ways. Whether it’s through authentic relationships, acts of service, or learning to live more like Jesus, we’re here to walk alongside you as we grow together in faith and love.
Our Vision:
WE DREAM OF A MOVEMENT OF EVERYDAY PEOPLE SENT TO INFUSE THE LIFE OF JESUS ACROSS DURHAM AND BEYOND.
At Mosaic Collective, our vision is to see lives and communities transformed by the love of Jesus. In the next five years, we dream of launching 30 micro-churches that serve as hubs of hope and healing, training 100 people to confidently live out their faith in their everyday lives, and building partnerships to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of neighborhoods across our city. We’re also committed to raising up future leaders through a residency program that equips and sends out new leaders to expand the mission. Together, we believe this movement can bring lasting change to Durham and beyond—one person, one community at a time.
Our Values
Our Values
We're Shaped by the Good News
We believe that the Good News is the unfolding story of God’s redemptive plan, that began with His good creation of the world. This story reveals God’s love, humanity’s fall into sin, and His plan to redeem and restore all things through Jesus Christ. It is the foundation of our faith, shaping our identity, purpose, and mission. By keeping the Good News at the center of everything we do, we are empowered to live out our calling as everyday disciples, sharing the hope of Jesus with the world.
(Genesis 12:2-3; Isaiah 53:4-6; John 1:1-5; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 1:16-17; Colossians 1:13-14; Ephesians 2:8-10; Galatians 2:20)
Our Values
We Multiply on Mission.
We believe multiplication happens when everyday disciples are sent to carry out the mission of Jesus—bringing His healing, restoration, and hope into their communities. By living out Jesus' command to love God, love others, and share the Good News, we equip disciples to multiply their faith and create lasting change. As more Jesus-followers embrace this mission, new micro-churches emerge, each one becoming a beacon of hope and transformation. Together, we envision a movement of people fully committed to living out the mission of Jesus and expanding His presence in Durham and beyond.
(Matthew 13:31-32, 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Timothy 2:2; Isaiah 55:11; Colossians 1:6; John 15:5)
Our Values
We Practice Whole-Person Generosity
We believe that generosity is about loving our neighbors the way God loves us, by caring for the whole person—spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. We’re passionate about using our time, talents, and resources to meet the diverse needs of our community. By mobilizing micro-churches to both utilize their collective resources and forming strategic partnerships with local non-profits, we’re building a movement of care that transforms lives in Durham and beyond, all for the glory of God and the good of others.
(1 John 3:17; Galatians 6:2; Hebrews 13:16; 1 Corinthians 13:3; 1 Peter 4:10; 2 Corinthians 9:8-15)
Our Values
We Pursue Transformational Unity
We are committed to pursing the unity that Jesus prayed for—one that transcends differences and transforms lives. This isn’t about sameness—it’s God’s powerful act of bringing together people from diverse ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds into one spiritual family, united by faith in Christ. As we embrace our God-given differences with humility and love, our unity becomes a living testimony—demonstrating the power of the Gospel through our oneness in Jesus.
(John 17:21-23; Ephesians 4:3-6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Colossians 3:11-14; Philippians 2:2-4)
Our Values
We're a Community
of Imperfect People
We are a community of imperfect people, each in the process of becoming more like Jesus. No matter your background, struggles, past, or present, you are welcome here. We believe that God meets us in our mess, and He invites us to join Him in the ongoing work of transformation. Together, we support one another as we grow in grace and truth, becoming more like Christ in every area of our lives.
(Matthew 11:28-30; Romans 15:7; 1 Peter 4:8-10; James 5:16; Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 2:19)
Our Values
We're Creative by Design
We are committed to innovation and adaptability in how we fulfill our mission of making disciples. We believe that while the Good News of Jesus remains constant, the methods we use to share it must be as diverse and dynamic as the communities we serve. By empowering individuals and micro-churches with the freedom to creatively express the Gospel, we foster fresh, impactful expressions of faith that resonate deeply with both head and heart. This creative approach is central to how we engage our city, ensuring that the transformative message of Jesus is accessible and relevant in every context.
(Ephesians 2:10; Genesis 1:27; Colossians 1:16-17; Isaiah 43:19; Exodus 35:30-35; Acts 17:22-34)
What We Believe
OUR BELIEFS UNITE US AND BIND US TOGETHER ON OUR JOURNEY OF FAITH.
LEARN MORE ABOUT WHAT WE BELIEVE AT MOSAIC COLLECTIVE.
There is one God (Deut. 6:4), Creator of all things (Rev. 4:11), who is infinitely perfect (Matt. 5:48), existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19).
Jesus Christ is the true God and true man (Phil. 2:6–11). He was sent by the Father (John 20:21), conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary (Luke 1:34–38). He died on the cross, the Just for the unjust (1 Pet. 3:18), as a substitutionary sacrifice (Heb. 2:9), and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood (Rom. 5:9). He rose from the dead according to the Scriptures (1 Cor. 15:3–4). He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest (Heb. 8:1). He will come again to establish His Kingdom of righteousness and peace (Isa. 9:6–7).
The Holy Spirit is a divine person (John 14:16–18), sent to indwell, guide, teach, gift, empower, and bear His fruit in every believer (John 16:13; 1 Cor. 12:4, 11; Acts 1:8; Gal. 5:22–23). He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment (John 16:7–11).
The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for our salvation. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice (2 Pet. 1:20–21; 2 Tim. 3:15–17).
Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all people (1 John 2:2). Those who repent and believe in Him are justified by grace through faith (Rom. 3:21–24), born again of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:4–7), delivered from the dominion of darkness, transferred into the Kingdom of God’s Son (Col. 1:13), granted the gift of eternal life, and adopted as the children of God (Rom. 8:14–16; John 1:12).
It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service. This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion. (1 Thessalonians 5:23, Acts 1:8, Romans 6:1–14)
The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Ephesians 1:22–23, Matthew 28:19–20, Acts 2:41–47)
The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and will be personal, visible, and premillennial. This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service. (Hebrews 10:37, Luke 21:27, Titus 2:11–14)
