A vision that grew smaller — and wider.
Mosaic is bigger than any one person. It's a story of God reshaping a vision—and ordinary people saying yes along the way.
The beginning
Rooted in Durham
Mosaic Collective grew from the larger Mosaic Church family, first planted in Wisconsin. That story eventually found new roots in Durham, North Carolina, with a simple desire: to see people meet Jesus and learn to follow him together.
Clarity
Smaller, not bigger
Over time, the vision became clearer. Rather than building around a large weekly service, we began imagining something smaller and more participatory—communities gathered around tables, in homes, and throughout neighborhoods, where everyone could have a voice and a part to play.
Today
The Table
The Table became the first regular gathering of the Mosaic family, a shared meal with scripture, prayer, communion, and open conversation, where presence, participation, and practice are becoming lived realities.

Across the Triangle
Looking ahead, we imagine a growing family across Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Distinct communities carrying a shared DNA, taking shape one community at a time.
Founder & Pastor
Nick Jonckowski
Nick Jonckowski is the founder of Mosaic Collective and an ordained pastor with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. He has served in a variety of ministry settings over the years and today helps shepherd Mosaic alongside a growing circle of leaders. His heart is to make space for everyday people to encounter Jesus and grow together in community. He lives in the Triangle and loves good conversation, football Sundays, and finding reasons to laugh with friends.
